As the new school year approaches, we are supporting local teachers by helping provide supplies from their classroom wishlists. We will also take time during the gathering to pray for teachers, school staff, students, and families throughout our neighborhood.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE SUNDAY
We believe the church is called to seek the good of our city. This Sunday, we will hear from local organizations serving children, families, and neighbors throughout our community and learn about tangible ways we can participate in their work.

Westchester Community Lunch
Following the gathering, we will head to three local restaurants for lunch. Each table will be hosted by people from our church, creating a relaxed opportunity to meet someone new, deepen relationships, and experience the kind of community that grows around a shared table.

We are beginning the month by giving our neighbors a simple opportunity to experience a Sunday at Community Church Playa. We will share our vision as a church, introduce our ministries, and create space for new people to meet the people who call this church home.

URM Serve Day | Hope Gardens
This summer, we’re excited to partner again with Union Rescue Mission and Hope Gardens for their annual Christmas in July event — a carnival-style day designed to bless and celebrate women and children transitioning out of experiencing homelessness.
We’d love for you to join us on Saturday, July 11th from 3:30–7:30PM in Sylmar as we help create a fun, joy-filled day for these families through games, food, water slides, and more.
Spots are limited to 30 volunteers, so be sure to register soon if you’d like to be part of it.

Union Rescue Mission Serve Day
On January 24th, our community at CCP will have the opportunity to serve alongside the team from Roberts Home Audio and Video (co-led by our very own Derek Eitel) in helping with brush removal and various beautifying projects throughout the property at Hope Gardens.
What is Hope Gardens?
A transitional housing campus that exists to provide a safe and supportive environment for single women and children facing homelessness, along with permanent supportive housing for senior women at our Sequoia Lodge.
So join us! Register here and plan to meet on campus (address in location details) from 10am to 3pm, with a break for lunch from 12:30-1:30PM.

1 Year Celebration
Join us on Sunday, January 11 as we celebrate our one-year anniversary and God’s faithfulness to our church community. After our Worship Gathering, we’ll enjoy a post-church brunch and give thanks for all He’s doing in and through our church.
NO WORSHIP GATHERING
We will not be having a Worship Gathering on Sunday, December 28. We will be meeting again beginning January 4, 2026 with our regular Worship Gathering and CCP Kids Ministries.
